Sean Combs’ Arrest Captured On Surveillance Video at NYC Hotel

Spencer Platt/Newsmakers

Surveillance video shows the moment Sean Combs was arrested at the Park Hyatt New York hotel in Midtown Manhattan on Monday evening, Sept. 16.

The video, obtained by TMZ, shows Combs entering the hotel lobby with a group of friends. The moment he entered the lobby, several plainclothes agents approached and separated him from his crew.

Combs looked shocked after the federal agents handcuffed him and marched him into an elevator. After clearing the lobby, the agents led Combs back through the lobby and out the front door.

TMZ reports that Combs traveled to New York with the intention of turning himself in on Tuesday, Sept. 17. But the feds showed up on Monday evening to arrest him.

According to prosecutors, something happened that caused agents to arrest him a day early. Sources say the feds moved quickly to arrest him because he was tampering with potential witnesses.

According to an indictment, Combs contacted his former artist, Kalenna Harper, 58 times after their Diddy-Dirty Money bandmate Dawn Richard filed a lawsuit against him.

In the indictment, Combs was charged with sex trafficking by force, racketeering conspiracy, threats and coercion, kidnapping, transportation to engage in prostitution, and arson.

He was twice denied bail this week, with the judge saying Combs was a danger to the community.

Combs was booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where he was placed on suicide watch.

According to the U.S Department of Justice National Institute of Corrections, suicide watch is a precautionary measure “for suicidal inmates that require frequent observation.”

Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, asked to transfer Combs to a jail in Essex County in New Jersey. Agnofilo said conditions at the MDC Brooklyn are “horrific”, and the NJ jail is nicer.

He will also have more access to Combs to prepare for trial next year. The decision to move Combs will be left up to the Bureau of Prisons.
