The University of Kansas fired a professor who said men that don’t vote for Kamala Harris should be shot.

The professor’s comments were caught on video during a politically charged lecture this week. He was a professor in the Department of Health, Sport and Exercise Science Department.

In the viral video, the professor said, “guys who are smarter than girls, you’ve got some serious problems.” He went on to say, “It’s what frustrates me. There are going to be some males in our society that will refuse to vote for a potential female president because they don’t think females are smart enough to be president.”

He continued: “We could line all those guys up and shoot them. They clearly don’t understand the way the world works.”

The professor then asked the camera person to delete his comments because he didn’t want the dean of the university to hear them.

On October 9 the university issued a statement, acknowledging that the professor “made an inappropriate reference to violence.” The university stated he was placed on suspension, pending further investigation.

The statement noted that the professor apologized “and deeply regrets the situation.”

“His intent was to emphasize his advocacy for women’s rights and equality, and he recognizes he did a very poor job of doing so. The university has an established process for situations like this and will follow that process.”

On Friday, Senator Roger Marshall confirmed the professor was no longer employed by the university.
