The owner of a troubled Atlanta nightclub was taken into custody during a court hearing over a deadly shooting at his club.
Police arrested Djibril Dafe, the owner of the Elleven45 Lounge, during a hearing over a deadly shooting at his club.
2 people were killed and 4 others were injured during a shooting at the club in Atlanta’s Buckhead neighborhood on Sunday, May 12.
Elleven45 Lounge has been a source of crime and other issues for nearby businesses.
Business owners urged the city of Atlanta to revoke the nightclub’s liquor license and shut down the club after multiple shootings in the area.
“We’re going to ask you to declare this property a nuisance,” said a representative of the city. “We’re going to ask you to issue an injunction to shut it down. We’re going to ask that the respondents be prohibited from operating Elleven45.”
Witnesses at Thursday’s court hearing asked the city to close the club after a temporary restraining order expires.
In related news, the city shut off the water at Elleven45 Lounge in May due to an outstanding $78,000 water bill.
