The owner of a troubled Atlanta nightclub was taken into custody during a court hearing over a deadly shooting at his club.

Police arrested Djibril Dafe, the owner of the Elleven45 Lounge, during a hearing over a deadly shooting at his club.

2 people were killed and 4 others were injured during a shooting at the club in Atlantaโ€™s Buckhead neighborhood on Sunday, May 12.

Elleven45 Lounge has been a source of crime and other issues for nearby businesses.

Business owners urged the city of Atlanta to revoke the nightclubโ€™s liquor license and shut down the club after multiple shootings in the area.

โ€œWeโ€™re going to ask you to declare this property a nuisance,โ€ said a representative of the city. โ€œWeโ€™re going to ask you to issue an injunction to shut it down. Weโ€™re going to ask that the respondents be prohibited from operating Elleven45.โ€

Witnesses at Thursdayโ€™s court hearing asked the city to close the club after a temporary restraining order expires.

In related news, the city shut off the water at Elleven45 Lounge in May due to an outstanding $78,000 water bill.
