Beyonce fans slammed a wax figure that was unveiled at the Grévin Museum in Paris, France.
Fans complained that the wax figure doesn’t look like their beloved country music star. They noted that her skin color looked whitewashed.
Beyonce’s fans have an unrealistic image of her in their minds. Beyonce herself doesn’t fit the perfect image they have of her.
“I DON’T KNOW WHO THE F–K THIS IS OR SUPPOSED TO BE! But it ain’t MY QUEEN! This is a WHITE WOMAN!,” one irate fan said. Another fan wrote, “now beyoncé may be lightskin but this is insane…”
In reality, Beyonce in real life is even lighter than the wax figure. But I digress.
The Grévin Museum was modeled after Madame Tussauds famed wax museum founded in London in the 1800s. Madame Tussauds has also been criticized in the past for not reproducing Beyonce’s skin color correctly at their New York location.
A rep at the time defended Bey’s wax figure in NYC. “At Madame Tussauds, our talented team of sculptors take every effort to ensure we accurately color match all of our wax figures to the celebrity being depicted.”
The “Texas Hold ‘Em” country music singer hasn’t responded to the controversy (she never does).
