Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory, founder of the notorious Black Mafia Family, was reportedly released from a federal prison and transferred to a halfway house in Miami, Florida.

Meech, 56, was transferred on October 15, 2024, Complex reported.

Black Mafia Family (BMF) was founded in 1985 in Detroit by Meech and his brother Terry Lee “Southwest Tee” Flenory.

By 2000, BMF’s drug trafficking activities had generating $270 million.

Federal authorities launched an investigation into BMF after Sean Combs’s personal bodyguard Anthony “Wolf” Jones, 38, was killed in a shootout with the BMF crew outside a Buckhead nightclub in 2003.

Meech was shot in the right buttock. He was treated at a local hospital, where he was placed under arrest.

During a multi-year investigation, the feds alleged that Meech and his brother lived lavish lifestyles. They spent millions on homes, drove flashy cars, and threw elaborate parties in Atlanta, New York and Los Angeles.

In 2005, the feds raided properties belonging to Meech and his brother on both coasts.

In 2008, Big Meech and Terry received 30-year prison sentences.

Terry Flenory was released to home confinement on May 5, 2020, due to health problems.

According to Complex, Meech is expected to be released from the halfway house on Jan, 27, 2025.
