Porter was charged with assaulting WNBA girlfriend
Former Houston Rockets star Kevin Porter Jr. is playing in Greece for $10,000 after losing the majority of his $82.5 million contract.
Police charged Porter with second-degree assault for attacking his WNBA girlfriend Kysre Gondrezick last December.
Gondrezick told police that Porter attacked her in a hotel room after returning from a party.
She later backtracked and claimed he never touched her, but it was too late. He was traded to the OKC Thunder, who waived him. His NBA career was over in a heartbeat.
The NBA has a zero tolerance policy for domestic violence.
According to reports, Kevin signed a $10,000 contract to play for a team in Greece.
Porter still has millions in the bank from his brief stint with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Thunder is reportedly paying him his fully guaranteed contract, including $15.86 million for the 2023-24 season and an additional $1 million for the 2024-25 season.
Gondrezick was drafted in the 1st round by the Indiana Fever in 2021. She previously played for the WNBA’s Chicago Sky. She is currently a free agent.
