Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis wrote a get-out-of-jail letter for rapper YFN Lucci.
Lucci is best known for dating rapper Lil Wayne’s only daughter Reginae Carter.
Lucci, real name Rayshawn Bennett, is among a dozen gang bangers charged in a RICO indictment in 2021.
Lucci, 33, is accused of murder, racketeering, violating the state’s anti-gang law, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
WSBTV reports Willis submitted a letter to the State Board of Pardons and Paroles approving Lucci’s early release.

In January 2024, he cut a deal in exchange for a guilty plea. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison with 10 years to be served on probation. He received credit for time served (about 3 years).
In her letter, Willis wrote, “the State does not object to Defendant, Rayshawn Lucci being released from Department of Corrections the first time he becomes eligible for parole or after serving one-third of his prison sentence, whichever comes first.”
That means Lucci could be out of jail and back on the streets of Atlanta within weeks.
It’s interesting that she referred to Lucci by his gang name instead of his government name in the letter.
WSBTV published surveillance video that shows someone shooting from the backseat of Lucci’s white Mercedes Maybach SUV.
The opp shot back and Lucci’s associate was hit. The mortally wounded gang banger was dumped out of the Maybach and left to die on the side of the road.

Willis apparently has a soft spot for drill rappers. She also dropped an attempted murder charge against drill rapper Lil Durk in 2022.
Willis later explained why she dropped murder charges against the millionaire rapper.
