Gayle King is desperate to land a man before she turns 70 in December. The daytime talk show host tried to shoot her shot at 59-year-old rocker Lenny Kravitz.
Lenny, who turns 60 on Sunday, promoted his 12th studio album Blue Electric Light on “Good Morning America” on Thursday.
Gayle took a moment to ask Lenny about his love life. She even threatened physical harm to any woman he is currently dating.
“You said let love rule. Asking for a friend, is there a love in your life now? Do you have a significant other in your life? And can I beat her a*s if she is?”
“Oops, did I say that out loud?” Gayle giggled. “And I’m non-violent, Lenny Kravitz!”
Lenny confirmed that he is currently single and open to settling down.
“You know, when you desire something you’re looking for it, right? But I find that when you don’t look is when you find it,” he said. “And I’m at a place where I’ve said this for several years, ‘I’m ready. I’m ready. I’m ready.’”
Lenny acknowledged that he wasn’t ready when he was married to “Cosby” actress Lisa Bonet. They divorced in 1993 after 6 years of marriage. They share a daughter, Zoe Kravitz, 35.
“I wasn’t ready. I thought I was ready, right? But I can say that I’ve never felt how I feel now,” Lenny told Gayle.
Gayle was previously married to attorney William Bumpus, with whom she shares two adult children.
