Gayle King was moved by the emotion when former President Trump spoke at the Republican National Convention on Monday.
King watched Trump’s speech after he was formally nominated as the GOP’s 2024 presidential nominee.
King implied that she was moved by Trump’s speech.
“I was watching it at home… I felt the emotion, sitting in my bedroom, coming through the TV screen,” she said on “CBS Mornings” on Tuesday.
Trump spoke at the convention in Milwaukee just 2 days after his near-death experience at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday.
The 78-year-old president was shot and wounded by a 20-year-old loner armed with an AR-15. A sniper killed the gunman.
Trump wore a bandage on his right ear as he spoke at the convention. His supporters cheered and chanted “Fight! Fight! Fight!” — the words Trump mouthed after he was shot.
Millions watching on national television were also moved by the divine intervention that saved Trump’s life.
