Halle Berry asked a court to force her ex-husband, Olivier Martinez, to attend co-parenting classes.
In a new court filing, the actress alleged that Martinez failed to show up to co-parenting classes as part of their agreement for their 9-year-old son Maceo.
Halle also says Martinez’s “lack of acceptance” of her boyfriend, Van Hunt, is preventing them from creating “a healthy environment” for her son, Maceo.
“Olivier’s conduct has resulted in several areas that concern me greatly,” said Berry in the filing.
She listed one major concern as “Olivier’s continued refusal to accept my relationship with [boyfriend Van Hunt], who plays an important role in Maceo’s life.”
Berry and Martinez finalized their bitter divorce in August 2023.
According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Martinez agreed to attend a co-parenting class with a coach to “resolve disputes and conflicts between them in an effort to successfully co-parent” Maceo.
But Berry says Martinez failed to show up for the scheduled meeting with the co-parenting coach.
Berry claimed that Martinez “unilaterally terminated” coaching sessions without telling her or the coach.
She said he went on vacation in France for the summer.
Berry claims Martinez “has chosen to repeatedly violate agreements and court orders with careless regard.” She added that his alleged “conduct harms” their son and Martinez’s “already strained relationship” with Berry.
Berry asked the court to force Martinez to attend at least one more meeting with the co-parenting coach.
However, Judge Shelley Kaufman denied the request on Thursday due to “lack of exigent circumstances,” according to PEOPLE.
The judge said the request was not urgent or an emergency.
