J.D. Vance sparked debates on social media when he said childless women with cats are ruining America.
Vance, born James Donald Bowman, made the remark during an interview with Tucker Carlson.
Former President Trump announced Vance as his vice-presidential running mate on July 15.
Vance is anti-abortion because he believes Americans should have more children.
“We are effectively run in this country… by a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made,” he said. “And so they want to make the rest of the country miserable too.”
Vance, 39, suggested that America can’t be great again if the population continues to decline. He said childless people don’t have a “direct stake” in America.

He continued: “How does it make any sense that we’ve turned our country over to people who don’t really have a direct stake in it?”

Vance’s core beliefs have changed over the years. He previously defined himself as a “Never Trumper” who despised Trump. But he changed his mind while running for the Ohio Senate.
In a short period of time, Vance’s core beliefs shifted from liberal to conservative.
Conservatism is based on the basic principles of Christianity: family tradition, moral integrity, and belief in God.
Vance and his homemaker wife Usha Chilukuri Vance have been married 10 years. They share 3 children.
Last year, he purchased a $1.6 million home in the liberal enclave of Del Ray, about eight miles south of the White House in Northern Virginia.
