Mandisa, 47, was found dead in her Williamson County home on April 18.

Mandisa’s father, John Hundley, told mourners at Brentwood Baptist Church in Nashville that she was diagnosed with the COVID before she died.

He said Mandisa told him she contracted COVID, “and she had been weak trying to get over that, but she was trying to press through.”

“She did not harm herself,” Hundley told the mourners. “Mandisa loved the Lord, and the Lord loved Mandisa.”

However, the coroner’s report claims Mandisa died from complications of morbid obesity (Class III obesity).

The Grammy winner and “American Idol” contestant died of complications of class III obesity at age 47, according to a coroner’s report obtained by People.com.

The report said the singer was found dead in her home by friends on April 18, and that she “was last known alive approximately three weeks” earlier.

Her manner of death is listed as natural causes.
