Missing Son of Ex-NFL Player Found Safe. Parents in Custody

Indiana State Police

Bryson Muir, the 14-year-old son of an ex-NFL player, has been found safe, according to reports.

Indiana State Police arrested former Indianapolis Colts player Daniel Muir and his wife Kristen Muir, along with several other people.

Police said Wednesday that a SWAT team executed a search warrant around 6 a.m. at the family’s home in Logansport, Indiana, and found Bryson with his parents.

A news release said he “appeared safe and well”. His parents were booked into the Cass County Jail.

Daniel Muir is charged with one count of obstruction of justice and one count of domestic battery. Kristen Muir is charged with one count of obstruction of justice, state police said.

Bryson Muir went missing on June 16, after leaving his grandmother’s house with his mother.

Cheryl Wright told police she noticed her grandson’s black eye when she picked him up in Toledo, Ohio, at the request of his mother.

“He just said that his dad did it, but he wasn’t angry at his father,” Wright told NBC affiliate WTHR. “He told me that he deserved it and it was OK. So I told him that it wasn’t and that nobody should beat their children like that, not if they love them.”

However, Wright didn’t call the police until 2 days later, when the Muirs and an unidentified man arrived to pick up Bryson from her house in Cleveland on June 16.

Daniel and Kristen agreed to bring Bryson to the Indiana state police to prove he is safe. But they “backed out” of a meeting arranged for noon on Friday.
