Channing Nicole Larry, a.k.a. Enchanting, died on Tuesday from a drug overdose. The 26-year-old aspiring rapper was a former artist on rapper Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records label.
She lingered on life support in an ICU before passing away surrounded by family.
Gucci (real name Radric Davis) announced her untimely death in an Instagram post on Tuesday.
“So sad to have to say R.I.P to such a great young lady a true star we gone all miss you Chant @luvenchanting,” he captioned a photo of her.
False death rumors spread across X/Twitter on Monday. But her boyfriend cleared up the rumors, saying she was still on life support.
Enchanting signed to Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records label in 2020. “She appeared on 3 compilation albums before she left the label in 2023,” according to New York’s Hot 97 radio station.
In a statement on Tuesday, Enchanting’s management team said she was suffering from withdrawals and had overdosed.
Sources say she died after ingesting Fentanyl.
Former gang banger Charleston White drew backlash for a comment he made about Enchanting’s death.
“This young lady is from my city… If someone die doing what they like to do (getting high) then why should anyone be sad for that person?” he wrote in a post on social media.
He continued: “She died a dopefiend just like the rest of them in the music industry! I told y’all they was just f*cking on her and wasn’t putting no music out!”
