Sean Combs has requested to be released on bond in a new court filing on Monday, Sept. 30.
In a 2-page filing in the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, Combs, 54, asked an appeals judge to overturn a federal judge’s bond denial.
Combs was denied bond by 2 different judges after he was arrested on sex trafficking charges on Sept. 16.
In an indictment unsealed on Sept. 17 in Manhattan, Combs was accused of being a kingpin who threatened and coerced his victims to participate in drug-fueled “freak offs”.
He was also accused of kidnapping, racketeering conspiracy, arson, and transportation across state lines to engage in prostitution.
A judge rejected a proposal for a $50 million bond with 24/7 security and no access to a cell phone or Internet. The judge said Combs is a danger to the community.
The next day, a magistrate judge agreed and also denied bond for Combs.
Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, said his client is no longer on suicide watch at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center.
Combs is scheduled for a status conference hearing on October 9.
