Sean Combs’ children sang “Happy Birthday” to him over the phone on Monday. Combs turned 55 on Nov. 4 while behind bars at the MDC Brooklyn in NY.
Combs was arrested by federal agents in September in Manhattan, NY. He is awaiting trial on federal sëx trafficking and conspiracy charges.
Combs’ children, Justin Dior Combs, 30, Christian “King” Combs, 26, Christian’s brother Quincy Brown, 33, 17-year-old twins, D’Lila Star and Jessie James, and Chance Combs, 18, wished their father a happy birthday via FaceTime.
Chance, who wasn’t with her siblings, wished her father a happy birthday over a phone held by her brother.
The father of 7 was in good spirits as his youngest daughter, Love, sang “Happy birthday to daddy.”
Then Love blew out the candle on the birthday cake. “Slow down,” said her mother, Dana Tran, who was off camera.
Combs laughed as the 2-year-old sang to him, then he thanked his children for supporting him.
“I love y’all, I love y’all so much,” Combs said from his jail cell. “I can’t wait to see y’all. I’m proud of y’all – especially the girls. I mean, all of y’all just for being strong. Thank y’all for being strong,” he added. “I got the best family in the world!”
Justin told his father he would see him in a couple of days.
Combs celebrated his birthday alone in his cell on Monday. He was served a choice of cheese pizza, salad or pasta for lunch.
He also had the option of a “breakfast cake” and some potatoes, but he won’t be served coffee until the weekend, TMZ reported.
Coffee is a stimulant that may cause some inmates to be overstimulated and experience sensory overload.
Combs made an appearance in federal court on Monday. He asked a judge to stop potential witnesses from speaking outside the court about the allegations against him. He also asked the judge to gag certain witnesses.
A judge has ruled that anonymous plaintiffs must identify themselves or their cases will be dropped.
