Rapper and singer Sean Kingston is back in South Florida, where he faces charges of theft and more than $1 million worth of fraud.
Kingston, 34, was booked into the Broward County Jail on Sunday, after being extradited from California.
Jail records show Kingston’s bail is set at $10,000 for his 9 charges. He is also charged with probation violation.
Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, 61, were arrested on May 23 and accused of committing $1 million in fraud.
Turner was arrested during a raid at Kingston’s Southwest Ranches rental home on May 23. She was released from jail on $160,000 bond last week.
Kingston was arrested while performing in concert on a U.S. Army base in the Mojave Desert.
Mother and son are accused of stealing over $200,000 from Bank of America, over $100,000 from First Republic Bank, nearly $500,000 worth of jewelry, $86,000 from a custom bed company and $160,000 from a Cadillac Escalade dealer.
Kingston is also accused of stealing a $150,000 a Colossal TV and sound system from an electronics store owned by Ver Ver Entertainment.
Ver Ver Entertainment pressed charges, which resulted in a SWAT raid to serve arrest and search warrants at Kingston’s home.
At the time of his arrest, Kingston was on probation for trafficking stolen property. His mother previously served 1.5 years in prison for bank fraud.
Kingston is best known for his 2007 hit “Beautiful Girls.”
