Simone Biles helped Team USA capture the gold medial in the women’s gymnastics all-around team final in Paris, France on Tuesday.
Simone, Jordan Chiles, Hezly Rivera, Jade Carey and Sunisa Lee celebrated by raising the U.S. flag in the arena and posing for photos.
Sunisa Lee and the Americans dominated the competition, winning by 5.802 points over silver medalists Italy. Brazil won the bronze.
Jordan Chiles fell off balance beam, but Sunisa Lee saved the day for the Americans.
When Simone finished her beam routine, her husband Jonathan Majors jumped up and waved the American flag. He flew all night from Texas to watch Simone compete.
The win redeemed Biles’ disappointing withdrawal from the Tokyo Olympics for mental health reasons in 2021. She returned to competition in 2023 and became the most decorated gymnast of all time.
Simone would later say she suffered “the twisties” while on the vault in Tokyo.
Simone now has 8 Olympics medals, breaking the tie with Shannon Miller. She has a total of 38 medals at the world championships and Olympics.
Pop star Ariana Grande was among the spectators watching Simone Biles at the Bercy Arena.
