Former President Donald Trump was injured during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday, July 13.
Trump was on stage speaking when gunshots rang out. Media outlets are reporting that a bullet hit his teleprompter and Trump was cut by flying glass.
Trump fell on the stage and when he stood back up, there was blood running down his face. He defiantly raised his fist and urged his supporters to “Fight. Fight. Fight.”

Secret Service Agents returned fire, killing the lone gunman. One other person was also killed.
Trump was rushed off the stage and taken to a hospital. His campaign said the former president is “fine.”
“President Trump thanks law enforcement and first responders for their quick action during this heinous act. He is fine and is being checked out at a local medical facility. More details will follow,” Steven Cheung, Trump’s spokesperson, said in a statement emailed to Newsweek.
“An incident occurred the evening of July 13 at a Trump rally in Pennsylvania,” Secret Service Chief of Communications Anthony Guglielmi wrote on X. “The Secret Service has implemented protective measures, and the former President is safe. This is now an active Secret Service investigation and further information will be released when available.”
“Someone just tried to ASSASSINATE President Trump. The Democrats and the media are to blame for every drop of blood spilled today. For years and years, they’ve demonized him and his supporters,” GOP Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia wrote on X. She included a video of the incident.
She added: “Today, someone finally tried to take out the leader of our America First and the greatest President of all time. Watch the video, President Trump said ‘FIGHT,’ SO WE WILL!!”

Trump’s supporters responded with outrage on X, formerly Twitter. Many wondered how someone with a gun got near the former president.
Trump supporter claims he and others saw the shooter before the assassination attempt, alerted police and secret service, and were ignored.
