The late Lisa Marie Presley kept her son Benjamin Keough’s body on ice in her home for 2 months after he died.
Her daughter Riley Keough, 35, spoke with Oprah Winfrey on Tuesday for a TV special titled “An Oprah Special: The Presleys – Elvis, Lisa Marie And Riley.”
Riley promoted the posthumous release of Lisa Marie’s book, From Here to the Great Unknown, which Riley finished writing after her mother died in January 2023 at age 54.
In the book, Lisa Marie opened up about her decision to keep her late son Benjamin’s body on ice in a guest room at her Los Angeles mansion for two months. She used dry ice to preserve his body following his suicide at age 27 in July 2020.

Lisa Marie also got a matching tattoo of her late son amid her grieving process.
“On paper, I can see how this sounds completely insane and absurd but my mom was just very much herself, Riley told Oprah. “She wasn’t a crazy lady – she was just herself.”
Riley (pictured) and Benjamin were Lisa Marie’s children by her first husband, Chicago musician Danny Keough.
20 days after her divorce from Keough, Lisa Marie married pop singer Michael Jackson in 1994. Lisa Marie said she married Michael because she wanted to help him amid child molestation accusations.
“I believed he didn’t do anything wrong, and that he was wrongly accused and, yes, I started falling for him. I wanted to save him. I felt that I could do it,” she said at the time.
In her book, Lisa Marie said Michael was a virgin at age 35 when they married.
In 1996 Lisa Marie filed for divorce from Michael, citing irreconcilable differences.
Lisa Marie’s third marriage was to actor Nicolas Cage in 2002.
In 2006 Lisa Marie married her fourth husband, Michael Lockwood, in Kyoto, Japan.
On October 7, 2008, Lisa Marie gave birth to fraternal twin girls, Finley and Harper (pictured). Lisa Marie filed for divorce from Lockwood in 2016 after 10 years of marriage. They battled in court over spousal support and child custody.
Lockwood was granted custody of the now 16-year-old twins after Lisa Marie died.
