Don Lemon and actress Jamie Lee Curtis made dramatic exits from X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday. They both left X after Donald Trump announced X owner Elon Musk as his new efficiency advisor.
President-elect Trump appointed the Tesla founder to head his newly created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) alongside former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.
Musk’s official job title is “Efficiency Czar.” He and Ramaswamy are expected to slash government waste by firing thousands of federal employees on day 1 of Trump’s presidency.
“Together, these two wonderful Americans will pave the way for my Administration to dismantle the Government Bureaucracy,” Trump said in an announcement on Tuesday.
Curtis tweeted the Serenity Prayer before deleting her X page after Trump announced Musk’s appointment on Tuesday night.

Lemon posted a written statement and recorded a video to explain why he’s leaving X, but he didn’t delete his page with over 1.5 million followers.
