Actors Meagan Good and Jonathan Majors announced their engagement at EBONY magazine’s Power 100 Gala at Nya Studios in West Hollywood on Sunday, November 17.
They told E! News that they chose to share their news at the EBONY gala because it’s where they met two years ago.
“EBONY Power 100 is the event that we met at in the bathrooms, in the unisex bathroom,” she said.
The couple’s surprise engagement comes a week after word spread online that they were back on the market. According to a popular blogger, Meagan and Jonathan went their separate ways – presumably after their “contract” had expired.
There had been rumors that Meagan and Jonathan’s relationship was manufactured by Marvel Studios to repair his public image among Black women.
Jonathan, 35, previously only dated White women before hooking up with Meagan, 43. His career was nuked after he beat ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari senseless in New York in March 2023.
Supposedly, the fight started in a rideshare after Grace caught Jonathan texting Meagan.
A jury convicted him of assault and harassment. He was sentenced to a 52-week mandatory in-person domestic violence prevention program.
A rep for Meagan denied rumors that she split from the actor after dating a little over a year.
“They are not broken up. In fact, they will be attending the EBONY 100 Gala together,” the rep told TMZ.
What a coincidence that they announced their engagement at that very same EBONY gala.
Jonathan has a violent history with women that dates back to his college days.

Black women are still skeptical of Meagan and Jonathan as a couple.
