Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, supported her friend Tyler Perry at the Paley Honors Fall Gala honoring Tyler Perry in Beverly Hills on Wednesday, Dec. 4.
Meghan arrived alone at the gala. Meghan, 43, and Prince Harry, 40, are rumored to be heading for a divorce. They spent the Thanksgiving holiday together for the sake of their children. But sources say the royal couple are in the midst of a “professional separation.”
Director and playwright Tyler Perry accepted the lifetime achievement award at his Paley Honors Fall Gala on Wednesday. Perry, 55, is godfather to Meghan and Prince Harry’s 3-year-old daughter, Lilibet. The couple, who also share 5-year-old son Archie, fled England to America after announcing in January 2020 that they planned to step down from their roles as senior working royals. Perry gave them shelter in his mansion before they moved into their current home in Montecito, California.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry flew across the country to attend an event in New York City on Wednesday, December 4.
Harry was disappointed that news got out about his apparent split from his wife. “Apparently we’ve bought or moved house 10, 12 times,” he told journalist Andrew Ross Sorkin. “We’ve apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it’s just like, what?” Harry said.
When asked why he and Meghan were attending events separately, Harry told Sorkin, “Because you invited me, you should have known!”
